If he's dreaming...I mean he is right, Blu-Ray's penetration is mainly due to the PS3. It hasn't grown the legs and penetration to the point where it is extremely relevant. Not to downplay the PS3, but people do buy more games for game consoles. I don't think any gamer wants to see MGS4 come out, and more people buy Norbit on Blu-Ray instead of the game. The PS3 has to push more games. You look at Devil May Cry 4, and you see that 360 leads there. With a price cut you have to admit this puts ...
Like success is breeding lots of envy. I don't understand how you can hate an engine that is very young in this cycle. We still haven't seen the U3 engine really shine, save for a few titles. Add to the fact that there are not many other engines you can look at right now that are better. Games like Bioshock prove that the engine in the right hands is rock solid. So I don't get it. I think when you talk about games like Turok, Conflict Denied, you have to look at the teams not the hardware/mid...
A pure gamer perspective. It doesn't make sense what you guys are saying. If Halo3 couldn't "destroy" the PS3, what makes you guys thing that MGS4 will "destroy" the Xbox 360? In fact let's look at it from this angle. In order for the Konami to make it's development costs back, Sony has to bundle MGS4 with the PS3. They had to, another note. Why are they releasing the game in the summer and not in the fall? Games usually don't sell that much during the summer months. Are p...
I just realized PS3 fans don't know what it feels like to have rumble in their games...Damn. Not a knock on you, but I can't imagine playing COD4 without it, if you think it's nuts now. The good thing is that since not to many games are coming out, you don't have to make a tough choice. New game or controller?
the game and you will be impressed word of mouth is spreading. The framerate is a non-issue, underwheliming visuals is also not true. I'm not going to go any further, this game is better than you think, and more fun than you can imagine. Plus with all the hoopla about R2 and 60 players, dedicated servers. This game is delivering now. It's worth the time honestly...I'm salivating for BF Bad Company now.
About the PC version (lol...I want to see the famous "I'll play it on PC slogan from the you know who's).
But the Xbox 360 version of this game is sold and scary fun. I welcome Dice cause Battlefield is awesome. Frontlines is what a true sleeper title is, and makes you look what a great line-up is for real. This is the type of game that convinces you to buy a system or not. I'm being dead honest. You can't play this game once, and not want more...It's impossible. Damn good j...
Know I was going to write something really long about my observations, but decided not to. The reason is I'm starting to see a pattern here, that just is a blatant attempt to degrade the 360. It's becoming shameless, willfully biased and based on many lies. This article is an example of that. She tried very nicely to make points, yet offer no comparison, evidence, links to information that support her case. The future success of one system over the other is based on performance. With that sai...
The PS3 in its first 6 months of launch drops to $100, and the Xbox 360 in it's first three years has only one at $50 bucks, now with a second. Won't have an impact in the long term? That isn't logical. The PS3 is competitive because of that drop. I mean lets reverse roles for a second if this where the PS3 would anyone think this is smart rather than desperate? I don't know how you can be desperate and you are leading. Even the logic of losing on a monthly basis is wrong, you are selling wha...
Looking at the fact that Lost Od is doing well sales wise (in the top ten UK software sales chart). This game is going to get a very warm reception on the 360. As for the earlier JRPG's I think it was natural for them not to get noticed. The Xbox isn't exactly the home base for rpg's. Now it is changing, because it is getting the best of both worlds with western titles like Mass Effect, then the East with titles like this one. I'm so getting this game asap too. I have a funny feeling that Jap...
Why do people keep mentioning the year head start that Microsoft had, and then in the same breath say that the Wii is in first place? How did that happen? I do believe that the Dreamcast was out a whole year before the PS2, and history shows us that the PS2 is 150+ worldwide console. I think its a bad excuse. That year head start is significant for this generation more from a development standpoint. It's expensive and the technology is hard to get a grasp of. That's the real benefit to be hon...
I know friends who just have a PS2 and haven't cared about moving onto the new systems. Whenever they come over and play a 360 game they say "I gotta get me one". A couple already looked at the PS3, some want that, but more want a 360. Gears does that I think the most, and for some strange dumb reason to me Crackdown. I can't stand that game...lol. I'm going on public record and saying. Kane & Lynch was a good game (which is another game my friends dig) That bank heist wa...
Like I said in a previous thread right the 360 is in a good place. I mean you even have Lost Oddessy in the top ten. That's huge. Along with Frontlines, (Like I said this game is gaining alot of traction with people). Army of Two even with the commercials is not on my list, so for the game to be doing well right now, only bodes well for GTA4 on the 360. Again I'm surprised by Lost Oddessey, I didn't think it would chart well anywhere. All I'm hearing from people who have it, is it is a damn g...
We have to keep in mind that there are numerous reasons why Microsoft would have a shortage of systems. You have the RROD situation, a price cut to clear inventory already existing. Along with perhaps some new SKU, besides this isn't the time of the year to be so robust on the shelves. How many titles are there that are worth the attention on all the consoles? Not many. GTA4 comes out next month, why not be prepared then? The PS3 doing well right now is a good thing for Sony, more so than it ...
They clearly have a good distribution in place for the 360. I think Microsoft's best bet is to concentrate on other territories to make up the difference. You have India (they just lost the head guy who helped launch the 360 there), Australia, and China. It would be wise for Microsoft to get more traction in these areas, along with Europe. Which I believe will come around this year. Japan we have to keep in mind is third in overall sales between the three regions. Microsoft can't take the laz...
People are forgeting that even though Sony may not need to do a price cut right now. They were the first to a major one early. 6 months after you launch you drop the price on a PS3 by $100? Microsoft has only dropped the price on the console the first time by $50 bucks. Which is half the price of Sony's initial one. In fact we are in early March of the machines third year. So in my mind it's actually overdue.
I'm not even concerned with the perception that the 360 will look infer...
To be honest, I do think it will have an effect but it really will matter around the holiday season. Which for Sony is a good thing if the PS3 delivers on the titles it has on it's slate. At the same time, how can you go wrong with a 360 and Gears 2 if that game delivers like the first one? I have a feeling that game is going to be a difference maker, and not just blu-ray. I just don't want to see a marketing blitz on that one title. Microsoft needs to look at this year for the 360 as a relau...
It seems time consuming. Like watching the video, it just seems like something you really have to spend time in. Not that it is a bad thing if you want to do that. I don't want anything taking more time away from me actually playing a title personally. I understand that it's a gateway to meet other gamers which is cool. Yet, wouldn't some form of a lobby in games be just as effective? Sony is doing a good job with the idea though...I just don't know if I could get into it. Maybe because I do...
Right about Microsoft and the Xbox 360. Waaaaaaaaaaaay too many haters, and the console honestly is an incredible buy. Every system has had it's faults, so I don't know what people expect to be honest. If you can sit here and honestly say that the Xbox 360 isn't worth your time. You are not a gamer, but a HATER...period
I'll be getting Mass Effect over the spring/summer months. I didn't want to go out and buy it while I was still enjoying my other 360 games. So I'm glad, cause it looks like I'll be getting lots of content to keep me busy...Good job Bioware/Microsoft...
